Two dreamy boys are playing in the attic. Soft light falls through the dusty old windows. A music box plays. A bizarrely intertwined castle made of colourful building blocks magically floats in front of them and turns slowly.
For the third time, DIE KAMMER is opening its unmistakable Imaginarium, a collection of lovingly staged little stories about love and life that are morbidly creepy, heart-wrenchingly romantic, tongue-in-cheek funny and full of eye-candy. The chamber has become larger, bigger and more playful. Alongside the already familiar and yet still extraordinary KAMMER orchestration of tuba, violin, viola, cello, drums and guitars, a bass has now been added as a permanent band member, rounding off and completing the sound. Furthermore, some truly extraordinary instruments and artists make guest appearances on the new album. For example, the listener can also expect to hear the sounds of real barrel organs, music boxes and other curious mechanophones. For the first time, a well-known accordionist has been engaged in the form of Vasily Dück. And as the icing on the cake, little Sophie (who is not entirely unknown to KAMMER fans) gets her own voice, brought to life by the voice actress Sabine Bohlmann (Lisa Simpson, Maulende Myrthe, and many more). Thus, ‘Solace in Insanity’ offers even more variety and versatility. Through colourful arrangements, through poignant and melancholy melodies, through the audible love of handmade, acoustic music. It fiddles and tuts, plucks and beats, whistles and strums, jingles and clatters, ticks and rumbles, and of course it sings passionately. On ‘Solace in Insanity’. The third KAMMER coup.
